Description
A family in Aspen is seeking a credentialed behavior analyst to work directly with their 16-year old son recently diagnosed with ASD-1 and ADHD. He is bright, engaging, and highly capable. He is navigating adolescence with challenges reading social cues, managing task initiation and follow-through, staying organized, and regulating in unstructured or socially complex environments. This is a private, one-on-one engagement. The right candidate will bring clinical rigor, plus genuine enthusiasm and experience working with teenage boys.
Primary Focus Areas:
- Social cognition and pragmatic communication (peer interaction, perspective-taking, conversation skills)
- Executive functioning: organization, task initiation, time management, planning, and follow through
- Flexible thinking and generalization of skills across home, school, and community settings
- Potential family coaching and parent consultation
Hours: 12–20 hours per week | Flexibility required | open to candidates with other part-time professional commitments
Compensation: Competitive compensation will be provided for FT-equivalent hours. Relocation support and employer-owned housing provided for the right candidate
Term: 6-12 months in-person, with potential to continue in-person or virtually
Requirements
Required:
- Active BCBA or BCaBA certification in good standing with the BACB
- Experience working with “late blooming” adolescents who need help with social skills and executive functioning
- Familiarity with evidence-based social skills curricula (PEERS, Social Thinking, or equivalent)
- Comfort working independently in a home and community setting
- Strong rapport-building skills with teenager boys
Preferred:
- Experience with DBT-informed approaches or CBT
- Background in executive functioning coaching, especially for ADHD kids
- Ideal personal interests: reading, games & chess, running, hiking, skiing
