The Department of Psychology at Shenandoah University is seeking qualified applicants for an
online, full-time (12 month) Open Rank Faculty position in the Applied Behavior Analysis
Master’s Program starting August 2024, with the option of initial part-time work starting in mid-
July. This is a program director position and involves program leadership including teaching and
developing graduate courses in our BACB Verified Course Sequence, maintaining ABAI/VCS
annual accreditation, leading recruitment efforts and promoting the visibility of the program.
Candidates must hold a BCBA-D and be license eligible as LBA in Virginia. Preference will be
given for candidates with online graduate teaching experience, a record of scholarship and
professional/community service.

The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching,
research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the university, profession and to the
community. These responsibilities include advising students, participation in departmental and
university-wide committees, maintaining online office hours, and working collaboratively with
colleagues across the university.

Minimum Qualifications:
1) An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or Special Education,
or other closely related disciplines from an accredited institution is required.
2) Board Certified at the Doctoral level (BCBA-D).
3) Evidence of successful on-line teaching experience at the graduate level.
4) Demonstrates a philosophy of practical application of ABA principles in ABA subspecialty
practice areas, such as Health and Fitness, Public Health, Behavioral Sports Psychology, Animal
Behavior Training, and Environmental Sustainability.
5) Evidence of publications in scholarly journals, presentations at professional conferences,
and/or other scholarly and creative activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) Demonstrated expertise in a closely related discipline such as organizational behavior
management or special education.
2) Evidence of experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students in a research
